To All testers of VB-Dial beta versions
PLEASE REPORT ANY PROBLEMS!
=================== Bugs Reported as of June 4, 1992 ===================
Problem:
"CREATING VBDIAL.DAT" followed by a "PATH NOT FOUND":
For those of you who are getting the above messages, what has been
brought to our attention is the ini file is calling for the Phonelist file
to be in c:\vb\vbdial subdirectory. This is the subdirectory that VB-Dial
was developed in, and the "VBDIAL.INI" file was never corrected before
release. (oops) WHY DIDN'T SOMEONE TELL US SOONER???
There are two ways to correct this:
1. Use the Windows Notepad to edit the offending line in "VBDIAL.INI"
change: "C:\VB\VBDIAL\VBDIAL.DAT" to "VBDIAL.DAT"
This way, no matter what directory you've put the program, (or windows
for that matter), it should work.
or if you're brave:
2. Delete the entire file "VBDIAL.INI" and let the program make a new one.
of course you'll have to set up all your preferences again...
Problem:
"THE STUPID PROGRAM KEEPS COMING UP 1/2 INCH WIDE. (BUT HEIGHT IS OK).
You're suffering from "Quitting while Minimized".
The very first release of VB-Dial admitedly made it out the door
without anyone ever thinking about this one. If you quit the program
(or Windows) while VB-Dial was minimized (an icon at bottom of screen),
the program wrote that width to disk, resulting in the next time the program
is used, it comes up just as wide as when you last exited the program.
It's another case of an automatic feature not having enough smarts
programmed into it...
It's been fixed. Now if it's minimized, it just won't save the width
as you exit.
